That Word Is LOVE
Penguin Book Cover Inspired Art — One Word Frees Us Of All The Weight and Pain In Life. That Word Is Love You’ll know the shape before you know why. This piece borrows the bold, three-band layout from classic Penguin book covers that’s been on bookshelves for decades, then hands it over entirely to a single theme: love. Nothing about it is printed or flat. Every mark is laid down by hand, so the surface has real texture and depth — it catches the light differently depending on where you’re standing, and rewards a second, closer look. Want it as a print rather than the one-off original? That’s available too, on archival-grade paper, framed by Australian framers who know what they’re doing. Go with a float frame for a sharper, gallery feel, or leave it unframed and sort your own. Either way, it turns up ready to hang — delivery’s free, anywhere in Australia. Good spots for it: A book lover’s space — it nods to one of the most recognisable cover designs out there. Think study, reading corner, or a hallway lined with shelves. A wedding or engagement gift — something that lasts well past the flowers. Hang it above the bed in your first place together, and it’ll still mean exactly the same thing in thirty years. A new home — bold, colourful, and equally at home in a stripped-back apartment or an older place full of character. Still on the wall long after the housewarming’s forgotten. A nursery — gentle enough for a baby’s room, striking enough that it never reads as childish. Above the cot, by the rocking chair — and one day, a small person sounds out the word on the wall themselves. It’ll move rooms as they grow, then follow you to the next house after that. Full of colour, timeless in style, entirely hand-painted.
